Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 27, 2026

Short version: LastDrive runs entirely on your iPhone. We don't operate servers, we don't have accounts, and we don't collect, transmit, sell, or share your data with anyone. Your garage stays in your garage.

What LastDrive Stores

LastDrive stores the information you enter — vehicles, drives, maintenance records, fuel logs, photos, documents, checklists, and notes — locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.

If you choose to enable iCloud sync (optional, off by default), your data is also stored in your personal iCloud account so it can sync between your own Apple devices. iCloud data is encrypted by Apple and is only accessible by you. We do not have access to it.

Information We Do Not Collect

LastDrive does not collect, transmit, or have access to:

System Permissions

iOS will ask your permission before LastDrive can access certain device features. Each is used only on your device — nothing is sent anywhere:

Camera

Used for VIN plate scanning, taking photos of vehicles, drives, maintenance invoices, and startup procedures. Photos are stored only inside the app's local database (and iCloud, if you enable sync).

Photo Library

Used so you can attach existing photos to vehicles and records. LastDrive only reads photos you specifically select.

Location Services

Used by the GPS speedometer to calculate your speed, and optionally to attach a location to drive logs. Location data is processed in real time on your device and is not stored, transmitted, or shared.

Motion & Orientation

Used by the HUD-style speedometer for orientation handling.

Children's Privacy

LastDrive is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Third Parties

LastDrive does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The app may use the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) public VIN-decode API for VIN lookups; only the VIN itself is sent to NHTSA, and no personal information is included.

Data Deletion

Because all your data lives on your device (and optionally in your own iCloud), you can permanently delete it at any time by removing items inside the app, or by deleting the app entirely. Uninstalling LastDrive removes the local database. Disabling iCloud sync and removing the app's iCloud data through iOS Settings removes the iCloud copy.

Changes To This Policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and post the revised version at this URL. Substantive changes will be highlighted in a future app update's release notes.
